What you get

Alpha Burger mix contains an array of wholesome ingredients that form an excellent texture and flavor for your home-made burgers.  You provide fresh vegetables from your own pantry, as well as olive oil and Tamari (soy sauce).

Cooking Alpha Burgers

Making Alpha Burgers involves a few steps to cook the grains, sauté your vegetables, mix and form patties, and finally bake them.  We're confident you'll taste the difference between our burgers and the "Just add water" mixes found in stores.  See the instructions below for the new 10oz Organic packages
 

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Simmer grains in 2.5c water on low heat until water is absorbed (~1hr)

  2. While grains cook, sauté ~2.5c chopped, fresh veggies in 2T oil until tender (Our classic recipe suggests 1/2 onion, 1 carrot, and 1 celery stick)

  3. Add seasoning packet contents to veggies and cook until fragrant (~3 minutes)

  4. Remove veggies from heat and add 2T tamari

  5. Mix veggies and grains well, form into 8 patties

  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 min, flipping halfway

  7. Enjoy!

Getting Creative

When making Alpha Burgers, you get control over your burgers.  You can make them with the classic combination of carrots, onions, celery and garlic, or you can be more adventurous by adding rutabaga, cauliflower, zucchini, and other veggies of your choice. 

You can adjust the amount of tamari and oil added to tune the amount of sodium and fat, or substitute liquid aminos for the tamari to make them completely soy-free. 
Alpha Burgers can be baked, pan-fried, or deep-fried, and shaped into patties, balls, or loaves, all with delectable results!
